Tues Sept 20 – We made it to Cascade Locks but not quite as smoothly as we planned. The train arrived late in Portland so we had to take a taxi from the train to the bus. We just made the bus!
The Columbia Gorge Express was very efficient. Arrived here at dusk. Good campground for $10. Set up our tent, then went to Thunder Island Brewing for burger and beer. Excellent!
Night was just cool with light breeze. Trains went by noisily a couple times 50 yds away. Pretty comfortable though. Will hit the trail about 7am.
Dogleggers on the Trail
