Day 8 – 16 miles – miles 124 to 140
Weather – Warm and sunny
We left our camp with just the minimum of water. We were really cutting it close. We knew that Mike’s Place was only 3 miles away and was supposed to have water. We needed more water for sure!
When we got to Mike’s we got what we needed and lots more. A bunch of local hikers have pretty much taken over Mike’s old ranch house and turned it into a hiker haven. Quite rough by nature but very friendly, they provided some cooked food, cold drinks, shade, and plenty of water in a very large storage tank.
