Endurance!

We very much appreciate the trails we have here in Port Ludlow.  Our thanks to the Port Ludlow Trails Committee.

12.2 mile trainer 4-5-18

Today, we managed our longest trainer so far.  12.2 miles in just over 4 hours.  We came through it pretty well considering we increased our pack loads by 50% to 34-38 pounds.

We are increasing distance and weight to be ready for those 20+ milers we’ll do on the PCT.  Endurance is the key!

We aren’t just fair weather hikers either.  Above is a view of the Olympic Mountains from the trail and you can see the scudding clouds as the rain dribbled on us during our whole hike
