Museum, Whisky, and a New Place

Monday, July 28.

After figuring out our itinerary a bit more, we planned out our last day in Glasgow before we hit the trail.

We again had a nice breakfast with beans, eggs, cucumber, and tomatoes. We had to check out of Adagio and get our things over to Hotel Indigo. Well, I thought I knew how to use Uber but I guess not. I asked a car to take us from Adagio to Hotel Indigo, but we ended up at the Marriott. What? Evidently, I thought I clicked the right choice but the evidence is not in my favor. Anyway, we had to drag our bags 6 blocks to the Indigo. We weren’t going to pay for another Uber.

After storing our luggage, we decided to walk out to the Kelvingrove Museum before heading down to the Clydeside Distillery tour. We looked around some especially at the animal exhibits and had a Diet Coke as we listened to an organist on the museum’s huge pipe organ.

As we left the museum, we walked around to where there were lawn bowling greens. A few groups were actually playing. They rolled those balls so smoothly!

Then, crossing streets and train tracks we arrived at Clydeside Distillery. We didn’t know exactly what to expect but it turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment after the entertaining brewery tour. After doing a few tastings, that neither changed our minds about whisky or buying any Clydeside products, we retraced our steps to the Isley Inn where we ordered Tempura Cauliflower and fish and chips. Nothing out of this world but it did the job. We followed our meal with the walk back to the Indigo for the night. Tomorrow our walk would begin.
